Kel-Tec PF9

13 10 2008

I had a chance today to take a new pistol to the range. I was NOT excited about this particular pistol, but after the day at the range was over, I came away with a better Much better feeling than when I started.

The Kel-Tec PF9 was the pistol I took with me today and was able to run through two – 100 round boxes of ammo.
The price tag of this pistols isn’t bad; $333.00. I can think of a few pistols that didn’t do as well as this one did that costs a LOT more.

The largest thing I found with the Kel-Tec PF9 was how easy it is to conceal.

First Jam For the MP 9

12 03 2008

I had my first jam while shooting my Smith and Wesson M&P 9 the other day. I actually didn’t know it had jammed until I took to back to the truck to re-load and noticed I still had 2 in the magazine and one stuck in the pipe.

I do not believe it was the M&P’s fault though. While loading the first magazine, I noticed a bad bullet in the box. When I went to load it, I felt the spot in my hand.

Ruger SR9 Revisited

7 03 2008

I may have given a wrong impression in my article about the Ruger SR9. The Ruger SR9 IS a good pistol, the problem was the particular one I got was the problem. I’ve been told several times that it was “probably a pre-production” model, but I never confirmed this with Ruger.

What shots I DID fire through the pistol felt Great! But, as the story goes; I traded the pistol out for another 9mm.

Another Beauty From Springfield Armory

1 03 2008

Springfield Armory 😄 9 Pistol

I was actually looking at this pistol before I purchased the Taurus PT 1911. I held it and even rented one to test shoot. Since it’s only a 9mm pistol, the recoil is pretty minimal and since it’s polymer pistol, there is not a LOT of difference in looks; but there Are some. Just looking at the 😄 9, and even though it looks similar to other polymer pistols, it still looks different. In fact, it looks different enough to make it look Good!

Range Again

27 02 2008

Today was a Great day to spend at the range! It was a little windy and a little cool, but in all, a great day to spend some time practicing. Practicing for what? Nothing; just to get a little better at a few things.

SR9 Disappointment

24 02 2008

10/19/2008
See my comments on the newer article on the SR9.

A few weeks ago, I was looking for a 9mm and came across the new Ruger SR9. I looked at it several times before making the purchase. The place I purchased the SR9 from did not have any to rent for test shooting, but I have always liked Ruger and decided to make the purchase anyway.
